Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole
🧂 Ingredients (serves 4–6)

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

3–4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

½ cup milk
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more if you love cheese!)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or parsley for extra flavor
🔥 Instructions
1. Preheat & prep
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.
2. Cook the beef

In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat.

Drain any excess grease.

Season with salt, pepper, and (optional) garlic powder.
3. Mix the sauce
In a bowl, combine:

Cream of mushroom soup

Milk
-
A pinch of salt and pepper
Whisk until smooth.
4. Layer it up
In the baking dish:

Add half the sliced potatoes.

Spread half the cooked beef mixture on top.

Pour half the soup mixture evenly over the top.

Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and sauce.

Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
5. Bake

Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.

Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes, until potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.

Cheese lovers: Mix shredded cheese into each layer.

Crunchy top: Add crispy fried onions or crushed potato chips in the last 5 minutes of baking.
