Cabbage and Minced Meat

🧂 Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) minced meat (beef, pork, turkey, or a mix)

  • ½ medium head of cabbage, chopped (about 4–5 cups)

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste (optional — adds richness)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt, to taste

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for umami flavor — optional)

  • 1 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)

  • Optional: a pinch of chili flakes or cumin for extra depth

🔥 Instructions

  1. Brown the meat

    • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add minced meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.

    • Drain excess fat if needed.

  2. Add aromatics

    • Stir in chopped onion and garlic. Cook until softened and fragrant (about 3 minutes).

  3. Season and build flavor

    • Add tomato paste (if using), paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the meat.
